The noise from pushing the camera button on this picture woke up Gianna, who woke up Isabella, so this is all I got this morning...

Torta di Pasta

Lately I have been making Torta di Pasta (spaghetti pie) for dinner. It's easy and yummy! The girls even love it!

I don't know which of the girls did this, but seriously, is this art or what?!?I know art is subjective, but I see an index finger desperately trying to get away from some sort of danger!

Pizza Night

Mike was wanting homemade pizza for dinner last night. I was all for it because you would get laughed at for asking for organic spinach (or non-organic!) as a pizza topping around here! We also finally used some of the basil we've grown. The pictures are before the pizzas were baked. We'll have to find a recipe for a good pizza crust, the ones we used we're as good as we hoped.

baby birdies

We have a bird nest above our front door that I find disgusting because:

1) there is bird poop all over (that Mike is trying to clean up as I write)

2) they are barn swallows and therefore they swoop at everyone on our front porch (oh wait, I like that - ha ha!)But then I look at this (fuzzy, out-of-focus) picture of a mommy's love! She spends all day going out and getting food to regurgitate back to her babies. That's love! Am I crazy to see Isabella and Gianna in these little baby birds? They're all so sweet and innocent, and dependent on others to be good to them.

Hot Legs

Diane brought the girls some toys including high heels that go clickety-clack! The girls love walking around in them and making the loud sounds on the kitchen floor! But they aren't very good at wearing the same shoe on each foot, or at making sure they go on the right foot. Which, of course, makes it even cuter!

Picnic

Saturday was Mike's company picnic. The girls had a really good time. They spent most of the day being chauffeured by different people in their little red wagon.

I love Isabella's little legs - they are especially cute to me in this picture...

In the yard...

Sunday we all went for a little walk around the neighborhood and in the backyard. It was all fun until Gianna, who loves to find just the right pieces of bark to carry in each hand, put a big hunk of dirt in her mouth. I think she thought it was bark, which is almost as gross. Then Mike & I made it worse by putting our fingers in her mouth and trying to get it all out. Then it was full-on meltdown, time to come in...

Ok, this has probably happened to everyone but me, and I'm the only one amazed by this -

BUT... last night while making deviled eggs, we found this egg...

As the mother of twins I feel a little guilty eating this.
