"Heart"y Lunch (how do I come up with these knee-slappers?!?)
This morning..
I feel like I should explain why the girls aren't in cute little pink outfits today. They were yesterday. In fact, to Daddy's surprise, they were wearing a cute little shirt that said "Daddy's Little Valentine" with a little Valentine envelope on it.
(Yes, I really should have taken a picture of them...)
The reason they were wearing it yesterday is because Mike has class all night tonight, so our Valentine's Day celebration as a family was last night. We went out to the local pizza place that we JUST discovered after being here a year and a half. They have delicious pasta dishes and sandwiches too. As I've mentioned before, the girls LOVE their pasta, so everyone was happy there.
So today is Valentine's Day for us three girls, and we choose to stay in our pajamas!!!
I'm feeling so blessed today to be able to stay home with the girls. I'd hate to miss out on anything. Some days are more tiring than others, especially lately, but still, I wouldn't change a thing. I don't want to be anything other than "my kids' mom"!

Happy Valentine's Day
Mike and I didn't coordinate Valentine's Day for the girls this year, but it worked out well. I got the girls little baskets filled with confetti hearts and little kissing frogs that make a puckering noise when you squeeze their tummy. Mike had gone to a candy store and gotten them each a box of treats. They fit into the baskets perfectly, in fact, they would have been missing something otherwise. Daddy even hand-made cards for them! Talk about Daddy's Girls!!!

Someone (Isabella!) is trying to sneak into her Valentine's Day surprise!

For our hearts...
This morning in honor of Valentine's Day I decided to do something healthy for our hearts. I upgraded our morning oatmeal from instant to the steel cut (the whole grain, slow-cooking) kind. I had no idea what it would taste like or how much to make. The tin said to use 1 cup of oatmeal, but that didn't sound like much for the 3 of us (the girls can eat more oatmeal than me!), so I doubled it. Needless to say, I ended up with a whole big pot of oatmeal hopefully it reheats well the next day! The girls seemed to like it as much as the instant, but that may be due to the fact that I loaded it up with cinnamon and brown sugar, just to make sure!
