For our hearts...

This morning in honor of Valentine's Day I decided to do something healthy for our hearts. I upgraded our morning oatmeal from instant to the steel cut (the whole grain, slow-cooking) kind. I had no idea what it would taste like or how much to make. The tin said to use 1 cup of oatmeal, but that didn't sound like much for the 3 of us (the girls can eat more oatmeal than me!), so I doubled it. Needless to say, I ended up with a whole big pot of oatmeal hopefully it reheats well the next day! The girls seemed to like it as much as the instant, but that may be due to the fact that I loaded it up with cinnamon and brown sugar, just to make sure!

Lunch today...

I'm often told when I put my ramblings on this blog that what people really want to see is pictures of the girls, not hear my opinions on towels, etc! So here are quite a few pictures of our boring old lunch today - mashed potatoes.

A Major Award

I enter contests online every day, and for once I actually won something! It's not the dreamhouse giveaway on HGTV, but it's still something! Earth's Best had a contest for a baby's birth to one year journal and it showed up yesterday. I didn't even know I'd won!

I feel like the father on A Christmas Story when he wins the leg lamp - A MAJOR AWARD!!!
(I hope most of you remember the movie!)

I heart Target

I hate to say this, but I LOVE it when Target rips off Pottery Barn. I thought these towels were as cute as the ones from Pottery Barn Kids. They are $24 at PB, compared to $10.99 at Target.

Change her world

Mike and I feel quite blessed that it doesn't appear the girls are autistic. But we did go through a period of time where we were worried. They are both speech delayed and were developmentally delayed. Luckily where we are we have a great Early Intervention program that they are both still involved in. Speech Therapists and a Developmental Therapist come to our house to work with the girls, and they are in STEPS (early intervention) for 6 hours a week. Not only were we lucky to get them into the program, the state pays for most of it - it can be very expensive. All of this makes me very supportive of anything I can do to support Autism Speaks.

Anyway, my niece Nicole sent me this wonderful link - the band Five for Fighting donates money everytime this video is viewed.

Pizza Faces

Last night was a pizza night, I think the pictures are pretty self-expanatory. The girls LOVE pizza (and all Italian food so far)!
