Earth 911

A friend of mine recently shared the website http://earth911.org/ on her blog and I thought I'd pass it along on mine. It's a great site because it shows you where you can recycle those nasty things we know we shouldn't just throw in the trash. Like batteries. So I was thinking about how many batteries we will be going through over the next few years between swings and toys, and decided to share how we will collect our batteries to turn in to the appropriate facility:


Because sometimes it's easier to be green when it's so cute!

GoodSearch

I wanted to share this with anyone else who may not know about this yet. GoodSearch is a search engine through Yahoo. They donate to a charity you choose each time you do a search using them. (I believe that comes out to $.01 for each search.) I just added them to my toolbar, and it was actually very easy. And it's easy to pick the charity you want. I chose PETA, but will probably change it from time to time.

So even if it's just a cent, if we all do it from now on it will add up to some good!

Daddy's birthday...

This weekend we celebrated Mike's 35th birthday.

The girls both got a sliver of "birthday cake" (brownie) which they definitely enjoyed, although they don't usually like sweets.
(One tried a Pillsbury sweet roll in the morning and spit it out, the other would have nothing to do with it - that's definitely from their daddy, not their mommy!)
Oh, and I believe I've mentioned this before, but Isabella is still obsessed with her Halloween bib. That could be from Mommy - I love Halloween!

I really don't know where my head is lately... Decided to add some pictures from the last few weeks and I don't know why I only have Gianna in these. I can't remember if Isabella didn't want a popsicle, wouldn't sit in her chair for it or what...

My new bag

Melissa gave me this bag on their visit a couple weeks ago. She knit it herself and then "felted" it. If you have ever seen her and Brian's blog, you know she is creative/crafty in many areas. (Her and Alice, they are both too much!) Anyway, I LOVE this bag, and not only because it was made by Melissa. It's just gorgeous. I am going to bring it to the hospital full of reading materials and journals (I'm anticipating a lot of free time just laying in bed - perhaps I'm crazy!) In any case, it will be nice to have it there since we can't have Melissa and Brian here like we did with the girls...
