My birthday

While out of town, I got to spend my birthday with my mom, unfortunately under the worst possible circumstances.  But I was still grateful to be with her and I'd take her back any way possible now.  Anyway, a sister and I took a little break and went to our "happy place".  Knowing I may never be back there, or perhaps not for a very long time, I took some pictures the coziest place around...

Big readers

The girls finished reading their first "chapter books" and are so excited!  A new world has been opened up to them!  Needless to say, I bet Santa is bringing quite a few books to them this year!

Pledge of Allegiance

On the morning of their birthday, the girls got to lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance.  I was so grateful to be able to be there to see them do it.  They were having a hard time knowing I was leaving afterwards, but still proud of themselves.

I had to go out of town for a family emergency on the girls' birthday, so I had them open presents early in the morning before school.  They may look a little groggy...
